PIECE ART ATTRIBUTION
Chess piece artwork
The classic white and black chess-piece PNGs and the medieval blacksmith, gate, and flag PNGs are from the ChessCraft Creative Commons 01_classic and 02_medieval sets, maintained by Stuart Spence.
The ChessCraft repository releases these assets under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-SA 4.0). The ChessCraft README notes that its classic chess pieces were copied from Wikimedia Commons’ SVG chess pieces under the same license.
The sprites are redistributed here without artwork modifications; they are scaled to fit board squares by CSS. This attribution applies to the art assets, not to the rest of the 4XChess application. The artwork remains available under CC BY-SA 4.0; adaptations of the artwork must be shared under that license and retain appropriate credit.
